This works for me when it comes to paraphrasing anything during the writing process: 1. I read the passage several times to fully understand the meaning. 2. I note down key concepts. 3. I write my version of the text without looking at the original. 4. I compare my paraphrased text with the original passage and make minor adjustments to phrases that remain too similar. 5. This is spot on, as personal anecdotal story, I grew up in the 90s/2000s with technology. I fell into playing video games, I didn't go out enough, and now as an adult in my early 20s I struggle with social anxiety disorder, and a bit of anti social personality disorder. I'm educated and observant of the world, but I do not partake in it as often and it has caused a whole bunch of problems eventually leading me to substance abuse because I was lonely, which created anxiety and uncertainty within me,, which led to depression. Don't be me. Don't let your kids go unattended with technology. My parents divorced early in my youth and that also had an effect, along with being taken advantage of by friends which reinforced my bad behaviors, disorders/mental illness. It is very difficult but I will not allow it to define me. I will continue with therapy and recovery. God Bless.
